  • Based on an original Asmara painting inspired by an 11th century Persian silk brocade, Como combines thousands of subtle shades of dark taupe and dark olive tonally, giving this ancient pattern a surprisingly contemporary feel. Similar patterns of mythical creatures enclosed in ovals are found in silk brocades from the Ming Dynasty China to Renaissance Italy and Spain.
  • This hand made cut and loop pile rug was made by combining a loop weave invented by Asmara with the ancient French Savonnerie pile weave. Woven with a complex yarn made up several yarns of different shades, this rug has a unique texture and shading variations reminiscent of rare antique rugs.
  • Has passed independent durability tests by the Independent Textile Service of Dalton, Georgia, USA.
  • Green manufacturing methods make this rug safe for children and pets.
